I took my parents out this afternoon- garden shopping. My dad has gone downhill- his memory is gone and his personality has changed. It is an emotionally draining time for me when I am with him- he is confused and ANGRY for reasons he can't quite verbalise or understand.
I took photos with my phone to distract me from my emotional distress.
This hibiscus took my breath away!! I am wishing I would have purchased it.
I think I will be going back tomorrow :)
Come to think of it- there were 2 that caught my eye- maybe buy both?!!
WOW!!
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic photos, made me smile! :]
Thank you for sharing, Emily.
thanks April! I was pleased at how they turned out from my phone camera - I am actually constantly amazed at how great technology is!! I don't have to lug around my big DSLR (which actually gives me a neckache :( ) so happy I could give you a smile!
DeleteBeautiful flowers Em! Yes, treat yourself to both :)
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law had alzheimers, a horrible, cruel way to lose a loved one as you lose them slowly. It broke my husband's heart when she no longer knew him or our children who she had once idolised. I just want to say I understand how you feel and send you a hug xxx
Ruth that means so very much to me - thank you for sharing. It is a raw subject and I was just talking to a friend tonight - we've known for a few years Dad has "something" (no diagnosis because he's not been to a doctor about it much to my dismay) but it always wrecks me on the days he's not himself. He does have good days but they are fewer and fewer. My daughters look quite a bit like me - and Dad often confuses them for me and asks me how my Dad is doing. That chokes me up.
Deleteps. I bought both colours of hibiscus!!
Absolutely beautiful blooms, you go for it girl. (((((HUGE HUGS)))))
