I thought it would be challenging to work a fantasy flower as far out on the page as comfortably possible while still retaining the shape somewhat. I loved working on this one and I haven't put colour on it yet because I am letting it marinate for a bit - to see if it's done or if it needs some tweaking.....
this one will be challenging to colour with the big blocks in the pattern - which is why I am still thinking about maybe adding some more design into it to make it more manageable to colour evenly...
drawing these shapes, designs and patterns is so soothing to me....real therapy!!
New blog follower here, and I'm having fun playing catch-up. This is really gorgeous! You must have a much steadier hand than I do ;)
ReplyDeletewell hello Cat!!! thank you for visiting - I hope you find your way back here again :) I apreciate your kind words - thanks!!
DeleteHow DO you do that? I've tried doodling, nothing ever matches and lines are very wobbly! Your monochrome patterns could make amazing fabric designs!
ReplyDeletesometimes my hand freezes and doesn't know how to start and/or complete one of these drawings Ruth - it's all done one line at a time and I actually started with Mandalas with pretty much all straight lines - it was the curved lines that scared me!! after becoming comfortable with the straight lines I ventured into the curved lines and I've learned that a wobbly line can get "lost" amongst all the pattern once it's finished - so I just soldier on. thanks Ruth!!
DeleteOh my... (sigh)
ReplyDeleteHow I do love doodling! :]
